The H-DUHS-16-RH is our current-generation 1600mm stainless steel DUHS combined sluice unit, featuring a right-hand sluice disposal bowl, central sink bowl and left-hand drainer/work surface within one wall-mounted unit.

Designed for hospitals, care homes, nursing homes and other healthcare environments, this combined DUHS unit provides a practical solution for sluice rooms and dirty utility rooms where a flushing disposal unit, separate sink bowl and additional working/draining space are required within a single stainless steel workstation.

Manufactured from high-quality Grade 304 stainless steel, the H-DUHS features a pressed worktop design that minimises joints and welds, providing durable, easy-to-clean surfaces for demanding healthcare environments. The current H-DUHS design also incorporates our improved flush pipe connection arrangement for easier installation.

Manufactured to meet the relevant requirements of HBN 00-10 Part C: Sanitary Assemblies, which superseded the former HTM 64 guidance.

Standard H-DUHS configurations are held in UK stock for fast delivery, typically within 1–2 working days.

What Is a DUHS Sluice Sink?

A DUHS is a combined wall-mounted sluice unit incorporating a sluice disposal bowl, separate sink bowl and drainer/work surface within a single stainless steel unit.

Measuring 1600mm wide x 600mm deep, the H-DUHS provides a complete working area for healthcare sluice and dirty utility rooms where more functionality is required than provided by a compact DU or DUH unit.

Two handed configurations are available:

H-DUHS-16-RH: right-hand sluice, centre sink bowl and left-hand drainer
H-DUHS-16-LH: left-hand sluice, centre sink bowl and right-hand drainer

Right-Hand or Left-Hand DUHS?

The handing of a DUHS describes the position of the sluice disposal bowl when the unit is viewed from the front.

Right-Hand Sluice – H-DUHS-16-RH

This model has the sluice disposal bowl on the right, a separate sink bowl in the centre and the drainer/work surface on the left.

Left-Hand Sluice – H-DUHS-16-LH

The corresponding left-hand model has the sluice disposal bowl on the left, a separate sink bowl in the centre and the drainer/work surface on the right.

Sluice Disposal Bowl

The right-hand sluice bowl provides a dedicated flushing disposal point for the hygienic disposal of appropriate body waste and the contents of items such as bedpans, urine bottles and vomit bowls.

Features include:

• Full flushing rim for effective and even flushing.
• Plain spigot waste outlet 100mm.
• Optional polypropylene P trap or S trap.
• Choice of top entry or back entry flush connection.

Top Entry

Choose Top Entry where the flushing cistern will be exposed and surface mounted on the wall above the sluice unit.

Top entry models are supplied with a 500mm stainless steel flush pipe.

Back Entry

Choose Back Entry where the flushing cistern will be concealed within a service duct or behind the wall.

The flush connection enters the sluice bowl from behind, allowing the cistern and associated pipework to remain concealed.

Centre Sink Bowl

The H-DUHS incorporates a separate Grade 304 stainless steel sink bowl in the centre of the unit.

Bowl dimensions: 500mm x 400mm x 200mm.
Waste: 38mm unslotted flush grated waste.
Overflow: None.
Tap holes: None as standard.

Optional tap-hole configurations include:

• One central tap hole.
• Two tap holes.

Available tap-hole sizes:

• 22mm.
• 30mm.
• 35mm.

The required tap arrangement should be selected to suit the intended use and specified tapware.

Cistern Options

The H-DUHS-16-RH can be supplied with a choice of flushing cisterns to suit exposed or concealed installations:

• Stainless steel exposed manual cistern with front operating lever.
• Plastic exposed cistern complete with flush pipe and front operating lever.
• Plastic concealed cistern complete with flush pipe and through-wall operating lever.

The HBN designation identifies the configuration of the sluice unit:

DU – compact wall-mounted sluice disposal unit.

DUH – sluice disposal unit with additional drainer/work surface.

DUHS – combined sluice disposal unit with a separate sink bowl and drainer/work surface.
