The NWT stainless steel nursery wash trough is designed specifically for nurseries, early years settings and children's washrooms. Its compact 325mm projection reduces the reach to the taps, making handwashing easier for younger children, while the rounded front and side edges provide a child-friendly profile for busy educational environments.

Manufactured from 1.2mm thick Grade 304 stainless steel, the NWT is available in five standard lengths from 1200mm to 2400mm. The number of users and tap holes can be configured to suit individual project requirements, providing greater flexibility where closer tap spacing is required for younger children. All standard sizes are held in stock for fast UK delivery.

The 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm models use the latest NWT design. The 2100mm and 2400mm sizes are currently supplied in the original design.

Nursery wash troughs are often specified with closer tap spacing than standard adult or school wash troughs, with some installations using approximately 300mm per child. For this reason, the NWT is not supplied with a fixed number of user positions based solely on its length.

Tap Hole Options

The NWT nursery wash trough is drilled to suit your selected number of users and chosen tap configuration. Please select the required options when ordering.

Available standard tap-hole options include:

• One pair of 22mm tap holes per user for separate hot and cold taps.
• Single 22mm tap hole per user for cold or pre-mixed water taps.
• Single 35mm tap hole per user for monobloc mixer taps.
• Special tap-hole requirements can be accommodated – select Special Requirements and we will contact you to confirm the specification.

The flexibility to specify both the number of users and tap-hole arrangement makes the NWT particularly suitable for early years washrooms where tap spacing may need to be tailored to the age and size of the children.

DfE & BS EN 14296 Compliance

The NWT nursery wash trough is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 14296:2015+A1:2018 – Sanitary appliances – Communal washing troughs and is suitable for installation in nurseries, infant schools and other educational facilities.

The trough is designed to form part of a Department for Education (DfE) compliant washroom installation and should be installed at an appropriate height for the intended age group, alongside contractor-supplied wall finishes, splashbacks, concealed services and access panels where required by the project specification.

The number and spacing of user positions should be selected to suit the age group, project requirements and completed washroom design. Overall compliance with the Department for Education School Output Specification is achieved through the completed washroom installation.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Clean stainless steel regularly using warm soapy water or a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, chloride-based cleaners, steel wool and other aggressive or abrasive cleaning products that may cause staining or damage to the stainless steel surface.
